Fuerteventura

Often referred as a piece of the Sahara transported onto the ocean, it is one of those places in the world where the sun is always shining and the temperatures always range between 20 and 25 degrees. Fuerteventura is the longest island in the Canary Islands and lies only 115 kilometers off the west coast of North Africa..
The island is famous for the length of its golden beaches. But the beaches are not all that Fuerteventura has to offer.
Fuertevenura offers a wide range of attractions and every visitor will find something that fits his needs.
There are charming towns and villages scattered throughout the heart of the island, where the atmosphere of serenity enchants all who visit.
The most intriguing of all the villages is Betancuria, nestled on top of a small volcano. Ist centre houses the 17th century Iglesia de Santa Maria church as well as ruins of a Francisan monastery. Both are worth to visit. Another point of interest is Antigua. Founded in 1485 this is one of the oldest cities in the Canary Islands.
The Attraction of Antigua is the 17th century mill called El Molino. Visitors are able to see for themselves, how the regional flour, Gofi, is made.
A must for all Lovers is Jandia Beach the longest and most beautiful beach of the island. Fuerteventura offers an abundance of possibilities for the whole family. Fun at the Baku Waterpark, an excursion to Oasis Park where you can experience the African Savannah, exiting submarine rides and more and more attractions are available for the visitors.
Once a year Fuerteventura hosts the world championships in Windsurfing. Wind, the ocean, blue skies, superb waves and temeratures between 18 and 23 degrees built the perfect conditions for this sport.
Also Kitesurfer and snorkeling and diving enthusiasts will feel like in Paradies.
The diving areas are partly in protected areas and belong to the most beautiful in Europe.
